Start Spreading the News... We're leaving FRIDAY...

We’re so excited about our Stellar 2024-2025 Season and we’ve been super busy working on Renewals, New Season Ticket subscriptions, Mini Seasons, and Pick 3+ orders. But it turns out we already need to start thinking about our 2025-2026 Season too. That’s ok because we love to multitask here at BTL.

There are THIRTEEN new shows opening on Broadway this month alone. And many of those shows will be sending out National Tours. So that means we need to start vetting these shows for all of you. Translation: ANDREW, LISA, AND I ARE HEADED TO THE BIG APPLE TOMORROW!!

We really will be living our best theatre lives over the weekend! Do you want to know which shows we are seeing in NYC? (This is one of the many reasons working at Broadway Theatre League Huntsville is just the best job). Ok, without further ado, here’s our list of shows for this trip:


  • The Notebook the Musical
  • Water for Elephants a New Musical
  • The Great Gatsby a New Musical
  • Mother Play
  • The Who’s Tommy
  • Stereophonic a Broadway Play with Music
  • Cabaret
  • Merrily We Roll Along
  • The Wiz
  • Hell’s Kitchen a New Musical by Alicia Keys
  • The Outsiders a New Musical 

 

Then of course throw in a pre-show visit to Ellen’s Stardust Diner in Times Square to cheer on the singing waiters. Maybe post-show we’ll head down to Greenwich Village to belt out a few tunes at The Duplex Piano Bar & then barhop a couple of blocks away to Marie’s Crisis Café – Broadway Showtunes “Sing-along” Piano Bar. Obviously, we will end the night dancing in the fountain at Lincoln Center with Liza! No, not Liza Minnelli, but Kip’s friend Liza Kloecker.

And that’s just FRIDAY night!!!

All of this may or may not be true. Well, the “shows” part is definitely true. For the rest I will let you know when we’re back next week. What you can absolutely expect is lots of reviews, photos, and maybe a secret or two from the “city that doesn’t sleep….”

  Broadway Theatre League has officially been accepted… as a member… of The Broadway League in New York City! RENEWED for Season Four: "Show & Tell" with BTL

Hopefully y’all are just as excited as me that “Show & Tell” with BTL has been renewed for Season Four and will be back on the air again in October through May 2025! For those of you unfamiliar with “Show & Tell” let me break it down for you:   “Show & Tell” is BTL’s morning talk show where we discuss all things that fall under the umbrella of the arts. Huntsville has a thriving arts community and we are proud that it is a place where you can experience Theatre, Music, Dance & Visual Arts everywhere here on the local level, but also with the Broadway touring productions that BTL brings to Huntsville. "TINA'S" Deidre Lang: From OG to GG!

  When I read in Deidra Lang’s Bio that she had been an OG Fly Girl from “In Living Color” and had also appeared on Broadway in the original production of Ragtime, I thought to myself, I have got to speak to this woman asap!! Sorry I’m getting ahead of myself, so let’s start over (but I simply had to get that out first). Tina: The Tina Turner Musical will be playing here at the VBC Concert Hall next week, November 22 nd through the 24 th , Friday through Sunday, for five performances. Deidre Lang will be portraying the role of Tina’s grandmother, Gran Georgeanna (or GG). And Kip Driver cannot wait!! Ok, now we’re back on track. Seriously though, anyone who has had the long and varied career of being an original Fly Girl, performing on Broadway in the original production of Ragtime and now traveling the country starring in TINA , is someone that I have a million questions to ask.
